Plants in the spotlights (ages 6-12)

This colourful catalogue (in English!) is about biodiversity. Biodiversity means: all living plants and animals. More and more plants and animals become extinct in the wild. We want to show you some of the endangered plants. In the catalogue you find stories and information on 15 rare and threatened plant species, which can be seen at the Hortus. You are invited to answer some questions for each plant by looking, feeling and smelling. The catalogue can be obtained for € 2,50 at the entrance of the Hortus and in the Hortus shop.

throughout the year

Superplants (all ages)

Do you know how tall the tallest tree in the world is? Did you see its little brother here in the Hortus? The Hortus presents the Superplants for children of all ages. On the Superplants map you will find 15 record keepers in the world of plants. And, of course, the locations in the Hortus where they can be found. The Superplants map is available on our special website. You can also collect the map at the entrance of the Hortus. It is available for free (also in English!) throughout the year.
